About Klabauter Islands (originally in german: Die Klabauterinseln):
“The Klabauter Islands” is a tactical board game in which you take on the role of one of four viking tribes. Players load their ships with units that they send out to conquer and grab treasures and cards that give powerful advantages or change situations in their favor.
Players must prove themselves in battle against other players and the Klabauters, as well as navigate skillfully and pay attention to wind conditions. After a certain number of rounds, the player with the most islands wins the game!
Players carefully weigh their ship routes, hold back action cards for the right moment in battle, and snatch away an unwary teammate’s weakest island!
They search for treasure to make their fleet stronger and form alliances with each other to gain some breathing room. They conquer islands from the Klabauter to get new units and send them directly back into battle against the other players. The simple and direct action card principle means that unexpected turns are constantly possible and the turn effect cards bring new surprises at the beginning of each new turn.
